Walt Disney World Car Care Center

We are frequently asked how to rent a car at Walt Disney World Car Care Center and what if I have any trouble at Walt Disney World Car Care Center. Here are some answers for you.

How to Rent a Car at Walt Disney World

We are commonly asked how someone may hire a car in the Disney World region for one or two days. Many guests want to utilize their hotel’s transportation system to go to and from the Disney parks, but they want to do something else during their trip (such as visit Universal, SeaWorld, or the local Disney outlet stores), and the cheapest and easiest method to do so is to hire a vehicle. Car rentals in Orlando are usually reasonably priced. (Although vehicle rental prices increased during the pandemic, they are normally lower in Orlando than in the rest of the country): rates of $50-$75 per day are not uncommon, and we’ve seen occasional weekend offers as low as $30 per day.

Car Rental Locations on Disney World

You may pick up and return a rental car at numerous locations on Disney property. To browse around for the best discounts at all of the rental vehicle providers, use the links below or visit our Rental Car Discounts webpage. Reserve your rental car in advance for pick-up and drop-off at a convenient location (it’s typically recommended to make a car rental reservation online to obtain the lowest pricing). Then follow the instructions below to pick up your vehicle at the best-priced car rental location.

Alamo is the “official” rental car provider of Walt Disney World, and National is owned by the same firm, both have locations on Disney property.

If you’re staying at a Disney resort, the most convenient choice is to hire a car at the Walt Disney World Car Care Center, which is run by Alamo and National. (Their address is 1000 Car Care Center Drive in Orlando, Florida.) The Automobile Care Center provides a shuttle service that will transport you from any Disney hotel to the Center to pick up your car. After you return your car, the shuttle will drop you off at your Disney hotel.

You can phone the Car Care Center up to 24 hours ahead of time and arrange for a shuttle to be sent to you. Alternatively, go to your Disney resort’s front desk approximately 30 minutes before your pickup time and ask them to contact the Car Care Center shuttle. The Car Care Center’s phone number is (407) 824-0976.

Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace, located near Disney Springs, is another on-property site for National. (Their address is 1900 E. Buena Vista Drive in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.) Take a Disney bus to Disney Springs from any of the Disney resorts. Cross Buena Vista Drive via the pedestrian overpass at the Earl of Sandwich and walk about a half block to the Hilton Buena Vista Palace. The National desk at Buena Vista Palace may be reached at (407) 827-6363.

Avis has a facility near Disney Springs at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista (location LB3). According to several reports, this facility was willing to send transportation to pick them up from a nearby hotel. If not, you may ride a Disney bus to Disney Springs from any of the Disney properties. Cross Buena Vista Drive and Hotel Plaza Boulevard via the pedestrian overpass at the Earl of Sandwich, then walk about a half block to the Hilton. The Avis desk at the Hilton may be reached at (407) 827-2847.

Off-Disney World Locations

If you are staying off-site, inquire with your hotel about the availability of a rental car counter. If not, several of the bigger conference hotels located outside of Disney’s site feature a vehicle rental outlet. Some of them may provide shuttle service, so if you’re staying close, give them a call to see if they’ll pick you up. Some may offer to pay part or all of your cab fare to/from the site — phone to confirm.

What if I Have Car Trouble at Disney World?

A trip to Walt Disney World is intended to be amazing, but what happens when life interferes and something less than fantastic occurs, such as your car breaking down? Disney, like everything else, has offered a solution!

My family and I were happily driving from Michigan to Orlando last summer when my husband noticed the automobile looked to be experiencing problems. I attempted to tell him that it was nothing, but after our 1200+ mile journey, we arrived at our resort parking lot certain that we had a problem. What were our options? We had just arrived for our vacation, and now we had a car that couldn’t carry us the 1200 miles back home after we were done. We were plainly unfamiliar with the mechanic businesses in the region… Then I thought of the Disney Car Care Center!

I phoned our Disney Resort front desk (we were staying at All-Star Sports for one night before transferring to Port Orleans French Quarter for the rest of our visit) and they were able to provide me with the phone number, hours, and directions:

Car Care Center

1000 West Car Care Drive Bay Lake, Florida 32830

The Car Care Center is near Magic Kingdom and next to Speedway. As a word of caution, my spouse found it a little difficult to get to if you haven’t been there before. I would recommend looking at a map quickly so you are at least semi-familiar with the location (the link for the Car Center has a map with it).

The Car Care Facility is a full-service auto center that also provides Disney visitors with rental automobiles and roadside assistance. Roadside assistance is offered up to an hour after the parks close and includes everything from refueling your car to hauling it to the Car Care Center.

Pricing. Everyone has probably heard and assumed that things surrounding the Disney property are more pricey than usual. At the Car Care Center, this is not the case. We found the price to be comparable to that of any other excellent auto facility.

Reliable and well-informed. They responded quickly after identifying the problem and discussing many possibilities with my spouse. They finished the project on time and kept in touch to let us know when it was finished. We didn’t have to worry about our automobile not being ready in time for our drive home. When the automobile was ready, my husband returned to the TTC and requested the shuttle. He did have to wait longer for the shuttle than we would have liked, but once there, he was able to return the car to the resort and resume our vacation.

Nobody wants to deal with automobile difficulties, especially while on vacation, but if you do, remember that Disney has you covered!
